The fellowship is named as a tribute to the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones. Designated as LCIF’S highest honor, the Fellowship symbolizes those attributes characteristic of individuals who are dedicated to humanitarian service. Generosity, compassion, and concern for others are some of the attributes applied in making the selection of a Lion or Citizen for a Fellowship Award. Each person awarded a Fellowship will have his/her name added to the Fellowship Record, and it will be displayed on a computerized plaque in the LCIF Recognition Room at International Headquarters.
